Purchase of an existing property - Financing assessment?

Recently, I looked at real estate prices near Stuttgart. For a terraced middle house with less than 100 sqm living space and 150 sqm land in its original condition - i.e. almost unchanged - from 1959, almost €600,000 (!) is being asked.

Madness!!


I was once advised to plan about half of the purchase price for it. For us, that was roughly correct. But of course, it also depends on what you want to change and what condition the property is in.

However, that would mean renovating the above-mentioned property from Stuttgart for almost €300,000 ...
