Did you clearly outbid the others? If not, that would be too stressful for me as a seller, and I would go for one of the other four interested parties and prefer the one who signs without conditions.

I understand your concerns, I wouldn’t feel completely comfortable either. But I think you have to weigh how much you want the property and how big the risk is that the seller changes his mind.

Where exactly do you see the risks? Do you suspect a risk that there might be oil in the ground somewhere, or are you concerned about other contaminations? If a specialist company has emptied the tanks, I see a relatively low risk from them. Because they would very likely have also detected any corresponding leaks.

Who is selling the property? Most likely not the nomad, right? Your concerns are understandable; certainly, you can ask the seller about it. But if you want the property, there will ultimately be little left for you, and with the overall volume, a possible contamination (most likely) should not weigh heavily in the end.

I can’t verify it, but I was informed that there were 4 equally high purchase offers and I am the preferred buyer.
Presumably it makes the most sense to involve the agent as an intermediary and openly address the concerns.

if it was disposed of properly, there is also an invoice for it. That would be enough for me. If a little heating oil was spilled earlier, the disposal does not cost a fortune. Regarding the pipe removal, as far as I know it costs nothing. If it is really no longer needed

The nomad has since passed away, and the heirs are selling the property. Simply put: I want to avoid any further unforeseen costs arising from this huge volume. I find the 6 oil tanks suspicious, and I just wanted to protect myself against this one case. I believe all other risks are excluded so far, and my architect is also having a short-term conversation with the building authority.

For 1.5 million, the 2k-3k soil reports don't hurt!
