stupid question: can you solve the problem yourself if you have the material? because according to the offer, the material doesn't cost the world. the 600€ is also just a very rough estimate and "based on effort" is the invitation to charge properly. so the part in the picture belongs to the house. if nothing like that is explicitly excluded in the contract, it is subject to the 5-year warranty. the material effort is limited, the employees cost the company significantly less. basically not a big deal. best to have a proper talk with them again or do it yourself with the material...

Actually, I don’t have two left hands. But I’m not daring enough for that. Especially since I’m not the most patient person with things like that.

On the other hand, I agree that it’s part of the house. And I’m definitely not going to lift a finger there.

In my opinion, the offer is also totally overpriced. I will not get any further offers for now.
In my estimation, the offer is 200-250 euros too expensive + this clause that it will be charged according to effort.

I will keep you updated regarding the warranty. As I said, the contract does not contain any clause specifying what is covered by the warranty and what is not.

We are supposed to have a window replaced anyway. He hasn’t pushed it for weeks. Presumably, he’s giving me extra time on the hope that I have fixed the blinds by then.

you can possibly calculate yourself how long it would take you to replace the part. from that you subtract about 40-50% of the time and you

otherwise it is simply a warranty case. if necessary, a letter from the lawyer. but first try properly again...
