Hi Gerda, you can read about this matter in the regulations of DIN 18 011 and DIN 18 022, whereby, for example, a bathroom without a toilet must be 4.5 m² or a bathroom with a toilet 5.5 m² in size. Here you can also calculate how large your fan should be to remove the moisture from the room.

Hello Paule,

thanks. I will read into that.
Maybe I will have to check again if I can also have a bigger fan installed.
It can't hurt if the capacity is higher than necessary. I'm always rather in favor of a bit more, if it helps.

Best regards Gerda

I also once lived in an apartment like that, so it never really smelled good in that interior bathroom, better shower, it never did. I was glad when the new apartment had a bathroom with a real window, although it's only a skylight, but better than those vents :)

Hello Gerda, Yes, a bathroom without a window is really bad. Just keep the door open all the time and turn the light on directly while bathing. I also cannot provide direct values; you will need to consult a professional for this. Good luck with it.

I would simply have another fan installed. Leaving the door open is indeed good, but then the moisture also spreads to the other rooms.

A bathroom without a window, I simply cannot imagine. Even if there is a large fan, the moisture remains in the house.
