Basically, it can also work the other way around than with Sandrina89. Then you first conclude the purchase contract with the notary for a partial area to be measured that you have previously agreed upon and then commission the surveyor who measures the boundaries and initiates everything else. That’s how it went with us.

if you want to avoid a notary, the property will not really belong to you. But maybe you don't want / need to be the "real" owner? If you only need more space for a few years (pool, vegetable garden, boule court, or similar) then you can also make a "private lease agreement" with your neighbor. You just pay a certain fee every month / year and as long as you agree, you can use that part ...
