Hello,

I would like to mount the following WLAN access point on the antenna mast of the SAT dish. There is already a LAN installation cable (Cat7) protruding there. Through this, I hope for good WLAN reception (except for some radio shadows caused by the house itself), especially in the somewhat distant seating area in the garden.

For this purpose, I am looking for a very small (field-assemblable) RJ45 connector that fits behind the cover of a Ubiquiti UniFi Accesspoint-AC-M. Metz Connect and similar ones are clearly too long/large.

Does anyone have an idea how best to realize this?

I have also already thought about an outdoor network socket + suitable weatherproof patch cable fastening. But maybe there are better (simpler) solutions.

Regards
B

Search for RJ45 connectors for Cat 7 installation cables at Kabelscheune, it might fit without the bend protection. Otherwise, hang a small gel sleeve next to it and continue with a thin cable.

Have you thought about the surge protection?

Just attach the Keystone and then patch cable to the access point. No field-attachable connector fits into the M. The sealing is not provided there. Isoband or heat shrink tubing around the Keystone. That way it remains easily replaceable...

Good idea :) thanks! The UBI ETH-SPG2 should fit, right? A hopefully suitable place would be about 4m after the roof penetration, behind an inspection hatch...
