I never wrote that - did I? My point was that you casually said the money would be back after 2 years (yes, you did).

And now you yourself say that you work part-time. And that’s obviously no full salary anymore... that’s all it was about. And with the salary of the original poster, there probably isn’t much left if someone only works part-time.

And very few parents probably have a daycare at their workplace...

What I don’t want for my children? That they are in daycare from morning until late afternoon and the parents only see them for a short time in the evening. I just don’t like 40-45 hours of care ;). But that’s a matter of taste :)

The fact is - money is available, even with children and for the children. And the 2 years of parental leave per child were not a financial fiasco, as is often claimed here. The salary does not disappear, it is simply lower for this period. Yes, then you just don’t go to Lake Ammersee 3 times a year (just an example). I just want to take away the fear from the original poster in this regard. About 3000€ net each... I don’t see a problem ;)

With 3000 euros each, I also see no problem - but I still suspect that it’s 3000 together ;)..

And with 2 years of parental leave, you don’t have 60% of the salary ;).

And parental allowance also has tax implications, and not insignificantly so, depending on the family income.

Each of us earns 3000€, so together 6000€. I just wanted to hear opinions. The plan is, of course, to acquire homeownership within a foreseeable time. The topic of children is always very ideologically charged. The fact is: We do not expect permanent 200% salaries, but also not just 120%. Through already secure salary increases and family allowance (I am a civil servant) and very good prospects with my partner, it should be no less than 5000€ household net income. But that is not the topic. I am interested in how other people approach the topic. I deliberately did not start an @Wieviel Haus kann ich mir leisten"-thread. Thanks to all contributors!
