Prevent erosion before the exterior installations are constructed

Hello everyone,

we are currently building on a sloping plot in an existing residential area. It will still take some time before we tackle the outdoor facilities. That means that right now there is mostly bare, more or less compacted dirt around our house.
This was not a problem until the weather god decided a few weeks ago that we should enjoy regular cloudbursts. These now cause muddy torrents to regularly pour from our property across the street.

This is annoying for the neighborhood and unpleasant for us. Unfortunately, so far no one (not even the construction company) has had a sensible idea about what we can do.
Therefore, I am now hoping for collective wisdom. Would you have a suggestion aside from a deep ditch directly at the street or a wall that ultimately causes the water to be pressed into our house?
Best regards

How large is the area? Coconut mats or slope mats might be an option but are not exactly cheap for large areas either.

Is the problem only the driveway or the entire property?
Does the terrain modeling wash away for you or the pile of topsoil that is lying around somewhere?

The driveway is actually not the problem, but the normal topsoil that it washes away (on the piled-up hill I had the weeds removed on purpose so that it has a bit of stability. The most severely affected area is certainly a strip of 3 by 25 meters on the weather side of the house.

I would cover it with tarpaulins and carry out the interception in that area fairly promptly. The water is still flowing, but not as much mud.

Hello,
back then the gardener advised me to sow mustard on the earthen mounds in the garden. It apparently grows very quickly, stabilizes the soil, and also prevents other weeds from spreading. And after one time of plowing under, it apparently doesn’t come back.

However, I didn’t try that at the time; I would ask a gardener again in your place.

Best regards,

Andreas
