Hello everyone,

we are building on a slope and have received a proposal for pressure drainage.
Does anyone of you have experience with this? Normally water flows downhill.
The drainage via a [Jungpumpe] that is supposed to pump the wastewater about 40 meters uphill with a rise of approximately 6 meters sounds good.
We would save about 10,000€ here.

I would appreciate your opinion.

Best regards

Save €10,000 compared to what?
Sending the wastewater downhill once around the equator?

With pumps, always remember operating and maintenance costs.

Then a bit more detailed. The house will be built into the slope. Here, a lifting system is supposed to bring the water up to [Hof Ebene]. However, it is still a bit further to the street and it goes uphill. Underground, a gradient is planned towards the street, and at the end, the water will be brought back up to street level with a pump. To avoid the two pumps and the deep earthworks, the wastewater technician suggested the Jung pump Multicut 20/2 M. This can then transport the water via a high-pressure line into the sewer. The drainage would thus be considerably cheaper. Now my question is whether anyone has had experience with it.

Best regards

I installed exactly the pump type as a twin system because I need to pump both wastewater and rainwater. I have about 1m height difference with a 15m pressure pipe.

It has only been running since January but I am very satisfied so far. The pumps are rather idling. Almost 5 hours total running time of the pumps, which means about €6 in electricity costs. I have not yet received a quote for the annual maintenance.

Thank you the_M. Currently, it looks like we will implement it that way.

How is it with the smell? Is the shaft airtight?
