Yes, that would also be the alternative and my original first choice (with EnOcean actuators and switches), which is still on my list. I'm still torn back and forth. You keep hearing that there are connection dropouts, actuators don't switch properly, and the search and choice of a base station to which I can pair all desired components... Sometimes I just think: "A simple KNX just for roller shutters and a bit of lighting and you don’t have all the other crap."Even if hardly anyone wants to hear it here. Radio.
I bet 90% of house installations or even more with KNX aren’t really smart either.
That’s the thing. You guys partly have truly smart houses and I understand the effort, the extra costs, and the use 100 percent. We just want a few things for ourselves (central point for roller shutter control and creating "roller shutter groups," ...).It’s certainly far from smart but perhaps sufficient for your purposes.
Gladly! Unfortunately, I can’t send PMs yet, I still need 15 more posts. If you want a provider that I used for that, just PM me.
You can find the rooms most easily in my thread about the floor plan: It's mainly about a total of 12 Raffstores/roller shutters on all windows on the ground floor and upper floor as well as lighting in the kitchen/dining/living area and hallway+corridor on the upper floor. For the rest, we wanted to install either simple dimmers or conventional switches/buttons. When roughly calculating the prices for KNX devices, I came to just over 900 euros (KNX power supply, IP gateway, 12x blind actuators, + buffer for buttons). In addition, there is the larger distribution box. The costs for cable installation would be interesting. Chasing grooves and laying empty conduits would have to be done by someone else (would be done anyway), I could then pull in the bus cable during electrical installation. If you name the rooms with the number of Raffstores contained in them, one can roughly estimate the material.
If you really only want to control all the blinds/shutters in groups, then take a look at the solution from Somfy with radio roller shutter motors. They have a clever control system for it and it costs significantly less. KNX is really not worth it just for that. You would have to go all in with KNX, meaning all switches and devices, or better leave it alone. The training in KNX programming is not trivial either and you don’t want to be dependent on an installer. I personally think KNX is great and am currently planning a smart home. But then you have to do it right. Half measures do not work well together.I came to a figure of just over 900 euros when roughly calculating the prices for KNX devices (KNX power supply, IP gateway, 12x blind actuator, + buffer for switches).
