Hello! We are currently planning the construction of our house! In the process, we came across the question of whether prefabricated houses are more sound-permeable than solid houses. It is not only the noise from outside that is important to us, but also the sound environment inside the house. So, how loud it is when someone is walking upstairs or listening to music, or similar. Maybe someone has experience regarding this!

No experience yet - we will only get it in 14 days

Hellhöriger is a timber frame house (I think that's what you mean) - but always. If you go to a show home park, let your partner jump upstairs once. Maybe there's a neighbor with a prefab house for a practical test. Or there might be a construction site visit nearby. Sound is also always perceived differently.

Last but not least, it also depends on the manufacturer and whether they use a lot or little material - wall thicknesses, etc.

But in general, it is tendentially always more resonant than a solid stone house.

Hello,

if you want to test it, take a look at the houses in the [Bauzentren]. Bring the family along and then you can test how loud it gets when the children run through the hallways upstairs, etc. That is the advantage of the [Bauzentren], you can see how it will be later on.

that is a good idea, especially since these houses always have thin walls. Also take a radio with you so you can test the music at the same time.

see you then Schirm

Friends of mine have a house like that and I don't think you hear more there than in solid houses. But even with prefabricated houses, there are probably big differences.

so I would say that the thicker the walls are, the better the soundproofing inside the house is. But you can only really test that once you are inside. Definitely do not take the cheapest house, it surely only has thin walls.

best regards
