Prefab house from Hartl Haus or Elk Haus?

Hello,

I am new here. We are facing a difficult decision regarding our construction project this year. We have had identical single-family houses with a granny flat priced at Hartl Haus and Elk Haus. Both house manufacturers offer almost the same services (except for minor details), and the house would cost roughly the same at both prefabricated house companies!

I have found almost no information on the internet about experiences with either company. That's why I am trying my luck here. We want to decide within the next two weeks.

Who has experience with Hartl or Elk Haus? Which company would you lean toward and why? Does Hartl Haus really use better quality walls? As I said, there are small differences. For example, Hartl Haus offers wood/aluminum windows as standard. Elk Haus offers "only" plastic windows.

Regards

Michi

I don't have the walls of the two in my head "by heart" right now, but I believe I remember that they differed significantly. Wood-aluminum windows are normally top of the line – unfortunately, in recent times, cheap builders have also favored this material combination. If wood-aluminum is not significantly more expensive than aluminum "pure," then it will be rubbish, and then it’s better to choose plastic (which absolutely satisfies the average customer).

Have you ever searched on Austrian websites, elk is, as far as I know, an Austrian company.

A few years ago, we also went to Elk to look at a show house and had a long consultation. Apart from the fact that they install an air-to-air heat pump as standard and even sold it as a really great thing, the rest was quite reasonable.

Air Air is used by almost every manufacturer, so they are on the safe side, the house is ventilated and it is warm. Even Weberhaus and Schwörerhaus still have that as standard, I believe. For a colleague, Schwabenhaus even talked him out of the underfloor heating, canceled the controlled residential ventilation and instead installed an Air Air heating system. Cost savings of about €13,000

Hello,

yes, both are Austrian companies. According to various internet sites, including Austrian ones, both companies perform very well in terms of customer satisfaction. Both, or rather every house building company, offer air-to-air heat pumps. It is also the cheapest option. We have an air-to-water heat pump with controlled ventilation and underfloor heating included in the offer from both. Elk offers a split Viessmann heating system here, i.e. with an outdoor unit. For an additional price of 6700 EUR, we can also order an A.-W. heat pump without an outdoor unit. Hartl already offers such a heating system as standard. Hartl also already includes an architect in the price. Elk Haus offers mineral fiber insulation for about 8000 EUR with a U-value of 0.15. But in direct comparison, the difference between the two offers is a few thousand EUR. Hm, the whole thing is difficult!

Does no one else here have experience with the two companies?
