Good day,

it is understandable that the questioner decided on a Wohn-Riester. Even though the costs can be lower with a loan, this form of real estate financing also offers certain advantages - the government subsidies and the tax benefits must not be overlooked. Various tests by different testing institutes showed that state-subsidized tariffs can repay the loan faster than non-subsidized ones. Certainly, the long commitment is a disadvantage for many users, but behind it lies a certain stability. The interest rates generally remain stable.

The Riester pension itself is already designed as private retirement provision, that is true. But there is also the Wohnriester pension. According to various guides, it has nothing to do with its namesake. However, the investor can pay off the house much earlier. The deferred taxation of the pension also has advantages. Because in retirement, lower taxes can be charged. Certainly, it is not good that the pension is taxed twice..... but that is just how it is and it will not change anytime soon. Wüstenrot remains so far the best provider....and if the customers are satisfied with it, why shouldn’t they also take out the policy.

Can you also define "best provider" in numbers? Besides, the thread is already practically dead.

There are also pension products without double taxation.

And why is Riester even taxed twice?

And why is the tax rate lower during retirement than it is today?

Where can I order the thesis-future-crystal ball that you use?

Where do you get the certainty to already predict today how the taxation of a Riester product will look like in many years (retirement)?

I would also be very interested in the double taxation of a Riester pension...

Toxicmolotows and Doc.Schnaggles points are exactly the ones that ultimately discouraged us. Uncertainty about the future and the supporting program until then, as the funding is tied to a few conditions. Strangely, none of the credit institutions pressed further here.

KI: "Riester is great, you have to do it"
We: Hmm, actually we are not fans of it for the following reasons. (...)
KI: "Alright, no problem"

A genuine conviction about the product looked different to us.

Is it the case with Wohnriester that you DEFINITELY have to live in the house yourself for your entire life and are not allowed to sell it?

We have received exactly the same offer from the bank, but we are a bit skeptical when it comes to Wohnriester.
