Structural engineers, shell builders, and excavator operators have seen the property and have already supervised many houses in the new development area. They all gave a thumbs up, there is nothing more stable in this area. Groundwater is probably 20 meters or deeper, the property is higher up on the hill.

I am currently facing exactly the same question and am trying to figure out whether it makes sense to pay the extra cost for the T8-MW, thereby saving on the special plaster and full-surface reinforcement required for the unfilled crumb stone T9, or to choose the T9 and incur the mentioned additional costs for plaster/reinforcement. Has anyone calculated this before? I am mainly missing corresponding prices for the special plaster/reinforcement compared to "normal" plaster that one could compare against the extra cost of the stones.

Regards,
Atlas

Yes, such a question would indeed be interesting to have answered. If you put aside the aspect of better insulation values for now, since I am not that far yet, one could certainly compare such things 1:1 in a quote.

Isn't the unfilled one the U8?

Which wall thickness do you want to take

**Edit: I am interested in a 49er brick thickness.

I once looked on, for example, Schlagmann's website:

[*]T7 with a U-value of 0.14 (unit price according to Schlagmann about 8.5 EUR)
[*]T8 with a U-value of 0.16 (unit price according to Schlagmann about 8 EUR)
[*]U8 with a U-value of 0.16 (unit price according to Schlagmann about 13.3 EUR)

The T7 and T8 are filled with perlite. The U8 is the one with many small chambers, which are supposed to break relatively easily during the shell construction (see picture).

I somehow don’t understand the pricing policy at all. The perlite-filled bricks, which are supposed to be more stable, clearly cost less than the one filled with air? Who wouldn’t choose the perlite brick (whether T7 or T8)??

The construction manager said T8 unfilled from Wieneberger, they want to build 36.5. 42.5 costs 5000 € more...
