The disadvantage of integrated insulation might possibly be the time factor. Who knows where the insulation will be in 20 years. Perhaps it will diminish over time.

I recently asked myself the same question. Is it one hundred percent certain that the perlite filling or mineral wool filling will never shrink over the planned service life of a brick house (possibly 100 years or more) and that the insulation properties will never deteriorate? Does the same apply, for example, to lightweight expanded clay/concrete stones filled with polystyrene?
(I know, the thread is old, but my question fits here really well).
