Hello everyone,

I am currently concerned with the question of which building material must or should be used to seal or insulate the floor slab and the lower "base area" of the masonry.
In our case, the structure looks like this, from bottom to top, we have no basement:

- Strip foundations
- Floor slab
- Welded membrane under the first layer of bricks/masonry
- On welded membrane, masonry made of calcium silicate bricks
- Outside: bitumen primer and welded membrane from the middle of the floor slab 60 cm high against rising moisture

A 16 cm ETICS is planned.

How is this best solved? How have you done it and what experiences do you have with it?
I hope for helpful posts.

Best regards
Ippebson

It is important that the sealing connects to the masonry and is not on the insulation.

To be fair, the topic is not entirely trivial and has a high potential for damage. Ideally, your construction supervisor would work out technical details for you. Layperson's contribution: The insulation should extend down to the undisturbed ground - at least according to what I know from cross-sectional drawings without a basement. Furthermore, floor-to-ceiling window elements need to be especially considered, e.g., with the panels you mentioned in the other thread.

Thank you for the reply BeHaElJa. What material did you use? Drainage board with fleece or is a simple base insulation board enough or maybe a dimpled membrane?

That is nonsense, new posts are shown to every user; regardless of the supposed "hierarchy" of the forums. I have just deleted the 2nd thread. Rhineland greetings

But reality shows something different..
Even if you probably don't like to hear that.

Are there any professional posts left?
