By the way, the HaloX cans from Kaiser have a diameter of 16 cm, but only a maximum of 14 cm or, if it still needs to be compensated (due to imprecise installation position), a maximum of 10 cm of that may be filled by the luminaire – also for thermal reasons. Usually, suitable LED downlights are more in the range of 10 - 12 cm anyway – above that, they usually have so much power that it could become too hot again. ==> service life

Apart from that, the LED power supplies also need to be accommodated somewhere. When installed piggyback on the luminaire, there are heat problems again.

Best regards

The HaloX cans with transformer tunnel are available in two different sizes. The transformer goes into the tunnel and is separated from the luminaire by a small plate. A kind of heat protection wall.

You can find more details on Kaiser's website.

Does the transformer (LED) have to be wired and connected before pouring the concrete? What advantages does such a transformer have compared to transformerless LED spots?

No, the cables and the transformer can also be installed afterwards. Provided that installation conduits are used.

Advantages are: durability, better illumination, etc.
