I would insist on drilling - it is always the best thing for efficiency. Only in case of damage does it, of course, look worse.

With things like the thickness of the pipes and the installation distance, I just rely on my company, which has been doing this for decades, has a good reputation, and especially when it comes to heat pumps, already wanted to install all the well-known tips from the forums on their own.

At some point, I just don’t feel like coming to people with acquired knowledge anymore.

No offense to you - it’s just a really annoying situation now, because you are making a decision for life.

You are right - I would have wished it differently too. Unfortunately, the general contractor has rather little experience with heat pumps, but otherwise he is a good guy and comes along with the construction company (although contracted separately). The advantage is that our site manager gets along well with him and organizes and coordinates everything at short notice - the disadvantage is that he has little experience with heat pumps and actually wanted to rely on Vaillant. They really messed up a lot with their calculation. And then the forum comes along with its tips. I hope that in the end everything will fit – we are not driving completely blind – rather a bit chaotic.

So. Now we have the approval but the drill is not coming... so dry heating with electricity - according to Vaillant probably no problem, just more expensive. For us it will also be 130m but in two drillings, since more than 100m is not allowed (but unfortunately it is getting more expensive now...)

Oh crap - sorry for you.

On our end, the drill arrived Friday morning and reached 140m around midday, and by the end of the workday the hole was sealed again.

So when the drill arrives, hopefully it will go quickly - but the vehicle somehow is parked on a major construction site in Osnabrück until the end of November -.- Everything turned out a bit stupid. What annoys me even more than that is actually the offer with the supposed 6 kW - calculated with 50 W/m, which we unfortunately do not reach here (it's only 39 W/m). Hence the extra meters and quite a hefty surcharge - that and the fact that we still don't have an update on the offer or any confirmation of when the drilling will actually take place... I think if worst comes to worst, we’ll do trench collectors (if I can find someone who knows how to do that).

But with the weak extraction performance? Think about it carefully or do the math to see if it even works for you.
