We had thought about that too. But we wanted the bedroom in the north because of less heat. But yes, you are right, then we would have had much more wardrobe space. As it is now, it is also good.

That will probably be the deciding point. Currently, I am calculating with an additional 20 cm, so in the end it will be about 35 cm deep. In the bathroom, a large window sill is fortunately also an advantage for storage. If it becomes even deeper because one of the pipe ducts turns out to be larger, I would reconsider and perhaps decide on one of the other options after all. If the window sill is too deep, it will eventually look awkward.

This is how it was done before the Energy Saving Ordinance

A good shopfitter carpenter will make that for you with painted wood, hardly distinguishable from the adjacent tiles. However, you shouldn’t be too stingy counting the money for that.

Thanks for the tip! However, we will hardly have any tiles on the gable side, or not at the location of the built-in shelves. I think the drywall installer will do a good job with that too?

I think the idea of moving the wall forward is good! It would definitely look good with flush built-in cabinets and I would like it better than all the wall projections...

Just had the on-site meeting with the plumbing company. They need to check how far the exhaust pipe, which is in the middle of the gable wall, will protrude into the room. It cannot be led directly up along the wall because there is a rafter there, and it also depends on where the tile is positioned. In the worst case, it can be up to 35 cm away from the wall, which would be quite a lot if I were to bring the whole wall forward.
