Hello everyone,

we have a notary appointment coming up soon and will therefore start directly with the renovation of our house.
I roughly calculated and wrote down some costs just for all the materials.
Please give me your opinion on whether this is within the realm of realistic or if I am completely off.
So the costs are as follows:

List:

12 x interior doors €3000

1 x front door with side panel €1000

10 x windows €3000

4 x radiators €800

75 sqm laminate €1500

Painting supplies, plaster, moldings, sockets, light switches, moldings €1500

2 x bathrooms completely €12000

I would be very grateful for your opinion.
Merry Christmas and relaxing holidays :)

Well, that's all a bit "vague"

- Interior doors: borderline, maybe doable as hardware store goods or from the lowest shelf without any special requests
- Front door: extremely dependent on your ideas of a door, with a side panel probably borderline as well
- Windows: depends initially on the size and features, you can't say anything general about that
- Radiators: with the details of the requirements you can definitely get real offers
- Laminate: €20/m² minus waste? Theoretically yes, but it wouldn't be my choice
- Rest: besides the small stuff and 2x moldings ;) only the plaster stands out. What do you intend to do with it? Replaster the whole house or just touch up a corner?

- Bathrooms: also here, what is "1x bathroom"? Looking at your rest of the shopping list it probably won't be a luxury resort, you can do something with 2x €6k. Unless it's supposed to be a complete renovation.

Sorry, in my opinion that hardly makes sense. For example: You may get laminate for €20/sqm, but where are the waste, glue, impact sound insulation, and moldings? This also applies to the other items...

Some have already said something.

But that really is a grab bag....

You need to be much more specific about this. Some things like doors and windows can be realized anywhere from cheap to outrageously expensive, depending on the requirements. Most of it seems to me to be underestimated or not assessable at all without more detailed information. We also bought doors at about this unit price (of course you can't expect much there), windows depend on size and equipment, and the electrical work is really guesswork. In any case, I wouldn’t install cheap equipment everywhere in a private home, but of course that’s a matter of opinion. We paid just under €30/m2 for our laminate flooring with impact sound insulation, etc. (all installed ourselves) and are satisfied with it, but it is and remains just laminate.

Overall very low calculated material costs. You will have to make compromises on quality if you manage it at all - see previous speaker.
