It is also much nicer, I did it that way more than 20 years ago and would do it again today. You take much more care of your own project than a paid architect ever would. You can consult one for advice, you need a stamp in the end anyway, but basically, you should do it yourself if you fundamentally know what to pay attention to.

Very nice! However, I would have added aluminum shutters with cassette panels and powder coating in the color of the front door to the house... :)

Sure, that would be even better, I just wanted to spare you from having to paint it later. However, I'm not entirely sure if the profiled window trim (in southern Germany and Austria they call it "Faschen") is in the way. I only retrofitted my shutters almost ten years later because it simply wasn't that important back then. During heavy storms, I actually do close them sometimes. Otherwise, they're just for looks, but they really add the crucial splash of color. They would really be missed if they weren't there.

Yes, the window Faschen would actually be in the way or you would have to install a corresponding construction. We have already considered that if the facade ever needs painting, then shutters will be added, even if only for decoration.
