After my Pax has caused no problems for 2 years, yesterday, out of the blue, a sliding door came off its track and the despair began... Back then, I had some space to the left of the wardrobe to hook the doors in, which is now gone because the bed is directly adjacent.

Therefore my question: is free space mandatory on one side to hook the doors in, or is there any way to hook them in "from the front"?

Thank you so much for any help!

Hello, you only need space on the side if the ceiling is too low. You must first unscrew the parts at the bottom of the door. Look at the assembly instructions.

You mean unscrewing the brackets - the ones that go into the rails at the bottom of the body? I had already tried that, but still had the problem of hanging the second door when the first one is attached..

Is there a recommendation whether to attach the rear or the front sliding door first? According to the instructions, first the front one, but then I have the aforementioned problem again...

I was a bit quick with the answer. I suspect the assembly order was changed at some point because otherwise the door can more easily slip into the wrong groove. If there is no space at the side at all, back first, then front is better. Take a look at an older instruction manual.

It also works without space next to the cabinet - it's a bit fiddly, but it works. According to the instructions, the outer door (the one facing forward) must be installed first and to the left, and then the inner door, to the right.

The problem is that due to the already existing outer door, there is little or no space for the left hand. I did it like this (I hope it’s understandable):
First unlock the latch of the inner door (if it is not already open).
Then you have to try to get the upper left corner of the inner door behind the outer door. Then the wheel should already be in the correct groove. Only then hang the upper right side of the door. To simplify it, you can also disassemble the lower guides on both doors beforehand. This way, you can partially fold the outer door forward and the inner door doesn’t have to be hooked in at the bottom first (as described in the instructions). To remove all guides, you have to unscrew the left dust protection strip from the outer door.
