Photovoltaic system: How many kWp are enough for a house?

I once thought about that for a station wagon as well. Electric for work and shopping would have been enough, vacation then with the combustion engine.
Then I saw the weight of the cars and the complexity and wondered whether I really need the combustion engine and station wagon. You either carry the combustion engine or the electric drive as dead weight. The complexity probably means no repair without an expensive brand workshop and the number of parts increases the probability of failure. In the end, I found a fully electric solution suitable for us. But I also don't need a trailer hitch for a caravan or horse.

Attached are the numbers from yesterday.
In general, over the last 3 days, it can be said that about 100wh were drawn from the grid despite the storage.

Yesterday, the electric car was charged. My wife then went to the hardware store at 11 am and continued charging.

By the way, the dryer consumes 6kwh

Thanks for the numbers. You are currently experiencing the best time. Enjoy it. In 10 months you will be happy if you have 30-35% self-sufficiency and I will be happy if I reach 60%.

Well, April (a bit of March and a bit of May) I don't really see as the "best time." I think it could be more or less average. That's why my hope is that over the course of the year I will get above 60%.

But I can only say that after a whole year.

We had here (steep south-facing system) in April by far the best month since 2017. With your east/west system it could be a bit better in summer but the sunny cool days of the last weeks were really great in terms of production.

I can tell you that right now. You just have to consider that from the time change onward, nothing comes down after 5 p.m., and all the activity in the household only really starts then, not counting the heat pump yet (at least in our case, or do you heat with gas?). You can only mitigate this by scheduling the dryer, washing machine, cooking, and baking for midday. Even then, without storage, I don't expect 40% self-sufficiency on an annual average.
