Hello,
I hope I am in the right topic area here.
We have a sloped plot where the basement is partially built into the slope. The excavated soil is to be removed and partially reused behind the house in the garden to level the plot.
Now I am wondering if the supposedly better topsoil in the garden area should first be removed, since it will be covered by the supposedly poorer soil from the excavation, so that it can later be used again as the top layer.
I have inserted a cross-section drawing to illustrate.
You can see the currently existing ground level marked in red dashed lines. I have simply drawn the planned level in black as an example.
The question arises because the shell construction company is only responsible for the foundation work, but not for the garden landscaping. They will therefore excavate the soil into the garden and we will deal with it ourselves later... It will probably be fairly irrelevant to them whether they cover the supposedly good topsoil with poorer soil if this is not clarified beforehand. I wanted to discuss this with the shell construction company tomorrow but don’t want to go into the conversation completely unprepared. In addition to further research on my part, I would be interested in your opinion.
Thank you very much in advance
Best regards, Kinderpingui
