The original poster relied on the buyer's verbal commitment. I find that very sympathetic at first, even though nowadays everything apparently has to be confirmed in writing and a verbal promise no longer counts. The rest of us can only learn from this, even though it unfortunately doesn't help the original poster.You sold the property, she built it differently than you wanted.
That is very, very unfortunate. I hope she at least paid significantly more for the property than all the other interested buyers. That would be a small consolation.She did not pay for the right of way, our house is very well insulated, but we always sleep with the window open and have done so all my life. We have stopped talking because she is not willing to change anything. As long as she was building, she was friendly and gladly accepted our help. We also allowed her to connect to our sewage system to save costs, etc. etc. When everything was finished, she seemed like a different person.
