I find it bad manners to deposit one's garbage in front of other people's properties. We have a similar arrangement here. Property boundary, bike path, green strip, street. We all put the bins on the street so that the routes of the waste disposal company’s employees are short. If the neighbors were to put their garbage in front of my property for collection, there would be only one clear message. Not because it might not be legally permissible, but simply because it is not proper.

However, there may also be cases where only a collection point for waste disposal is designated for such constructions. This is not yet known at present. Otherwise, I naturally agree.

The problem is, we actually have nothing against our neighbors. The conversation yesterday just didn’t go quite smoothly. Our 70-year-old neighbor was initially puzzled, looking at us as to what problem we kids could possibly have; we are 26 and 24 and the youngest in this area.

There isn’t even a collection point on the street. Everyone puts their garbage in front of their own property and it gets picked up from there.

Personally, we have no problem tearing down the carport. The wood there is in poor condition. Sooner or later, we want to tear it down anyway. We wouldn’t be doing anyone a favor by keeping it.

You will have a lot of fun building.
How can you even pave the meadow with a house...
Building in existing stock (even worse in the countryside) in a gap is always special. Don't get too upset. If you manage to establish a good connection with the direct neighbors, you will benefit enormously from it.
Here in the forum, there are some fellow sufferers.

In summary, have the neighbors placed yellow bags and two bins on the city-owned strip in front of your property? And that upsets you so much that you want to do something about it?

Honestly... that's not worth getting upset about. The garbage collection comes every two weeks for me when the yellow bags are placed there the evening before... who cares? Everything disappears again over the course of the next day. The property was just undeveloped until now, so that may have become the usual practice. If there is construction activity underway, it probably won't be an option anymore – and it will take care of itself.

It would be a completely different matter, of course, if the garbage were constantly there. So, in other words, if every neighbor already puts out their full bag.
