Painting wall cladding made of tongue and groove boards.
I am moving into a house that has an ugly wall cladding made of tongue and groove boards on the upper floor, which was once fashionable in the 60s. I want to paint this cladding white but am not quite sure how to do it. Do I need to sand the wood first, or is it enough to apply a white primer… and what kind of primer is best for this? Should I prime once or twice? Once the primer has dried, do I need to sand the primer before painting, or can I apply the paint straight away? What kind of paint is recommended for this?
Maybe someone has a different, better suggestion!?
In part of the upper floor, the cladding is made with these photo paper tongue and groove elements. Can I paint them like the other boards, or is it done differently?
I have already searched on Google but found nothing useful… maybe you could help me!?
