Painting drywall with/without painter’s fleece

Hello dear community,

so far we have successfully built a solid wood house. Now the painting work is to be done by ourselves.
Inside, the walls are covered with drywall and filled/sanded with Knauf Uniflott.

Our current plan is to prime/spray the walls with an airless device.
It is always recommended to wallpaper with painter's fleece to prevent cracks.

Does anyone have experience with that?

For a wooden house, I would also recommend painter's fleece. Otherwise, when priming, tape everything off carefully.

No no.... So: Priming is still necessary! Drywall absorbs too much.

The topic will come up for us in two months as well. Our drywall installer said: Prime, then fleece wallpaper instead of fiberglass, because it is easier for laypeople to handle and more cost-effective, then paint if desired. The fleece would also even out cracks. What do you think?

It will also become a topic for us. We just want to paint the plaster white. In our apartment, the walls were provided by the landlord like that. Looks great. However, the ceilings are covered with woodchip wallpaper. Some acquaintances also recommended this to us because the wallpaper on the ceiling is supposed to be easier to maintain. How do you plan to design the ceilings? The plaster will be sanded to Q2 for us. The general contractor said you can paint directly on it. Best regards Fanta
