Since we have to and want to move out of here, we will probably move in already, even if it is not finished for a long time. Since we don’t have small children, it shouldn’t be too dramatic, and I myself will be on site to continue working.
Let’s see..... nevertheless, the pressure on the service provider must be maintained, although I basically don’t like that.
I basically understand problems and mishaps, but in most cases it was simply banal unreliability, empty promises, or stalling tactics.
All of that would not be necessary since I can understand a "No" or "the appointment has unfortunately been postponed to....", whereas phrases or recognizable buzzwords less so.
Well then...... in retrospect it will feel less unpleasant.

I'm really too young for that.

On the topic: Our contract states a construction period of seven to eight months, which was reached last week. However, there have been hardly any real delays, and the sequence was largely in order. Only the handover shaft was not installed on the first attempt (during the earthworks) because the canal stub was untraceable. It will be installed next week. Otherwise, I only found the parallel executions somewhat lacking, but maybe that will still be blamed on Corona. For example, first the plumber and then the electrician were active, with the electrician officially postponing his work to avoid trampling over the expensive cables. The public utilities started two weeks later than planned, and last but not least, our front door will only be installed at the very end.

A real check of the schedule is not possible because the construction manager (wisely) did not allow himself to be persuaded to produce an official construction timetable. Overall, it will probably take closer to ten months than eight, but with my current knowledge, I also consider that estimate to have been overly optimistic from the start.

We called it "stamp rock" back then. Oh, those were the days. For us, it was Barry Manilow.
