Rooms with a recreational character (workshop, hobby, etc.) I would grant a window. For purely utility rooms (storage, technical) I could easily live without a window. I would connect all rooms to the controlled residential ventilation.

Hi,

just as a feedback, we have now painted the basement windows in the large storage room (Keller 3) and the equipment room.
This also suits us better with the terrace above.

Best regards,

Andreas

All 4 light wells/basement windows have now been removed from the plan. Only the guest room will receive a "real" window (bevel). The entire basement will be connected to controlled residential ventilation/heat recovery and will have underfloor heating.

Especially in the guest room, we will probably do without the window. The [GÜ] says it can only be implemented with an excavated light well and not such a small window with a burglar-proof grille at floor level. It’s dreadful for the guest if they always have to worry that someone is standing in front of the window. Basement windows with light wells are absolutely awful in my opinion.

A guest room completely without windows and especially daylight is not exactly inviting either. It feels like a very large storage room with a bed and a wardrobe inside. Outside, the sun is shining brightly and your guest... hmm... first turns on the light when they move into their room in the afternoon. Actually a pity.
