Old building, year of construction around 1970, no basement, replace/enlarge windows?

I would like to replace the old wooden window and install a patio door there, which means the opening will be enlarged downwards by about 50 cm. This way, the crack would partially disappear. Is that possible? I would be very grateful for any answers!

Should the door then be installed crooked exactly like the window is now? If not, you would have to adjust that as well, right?

Answer from Radio Yerevan: in principle, yes. The structural stability is ultimately not affected here if the window opening is merely deprived of the parapet. Nevertheless, the crack then simply "goes away" but its cause is not healed. For more precise advice, more detailed knowledge would be required.

Very likely yes. There is already a beam above the window.
