Or you just use IP telephony anyway (like most people). Then the phone/charging station simply goes into one of the (plentiful network sockets available after this thread) and takes care of the rest itself. Whether DECT, wired, via WLAN, or even app, it's totally indifferent.

It does require (partly) new devices, but the flexibility is appealing!

Whether DECT or IP telephony, Gigaset Go Box remains the method of choice. And it is inexpensive as well.

Of course, you can give each handset its own base instead of registering it to one integrated in the "router" (Fritz or other entertainment box). The connection between the handset and the base (whether integrated or separate) is always via DECT – regardless of whether there is VoIP, ISDN, or analog beforehand. In this respect, "IP telephony" makes no difference.

He is talking about IP telephony in the house and not DECT. Transmission is wired via Ethernet or wireless via WLAN.

Take your smartphone and install a softphone app. Turn on WLAN, register to the Fritzbox, and that's it. I think AVM even has its own app for that.

What is supposed to be better about transmission via WLAN than DECT?
