Hello everyone, I am building a single-family house (brick by brick). The building inspector criticized that the windows are only fixed on the left and right. The fixation at the bottom is still missing. (fixation at the top is not possible due to the roller shutter) I spoke with my neighbor (different developer). It was exactly the same with him (without fixation at the bottom). How is it with you?

Normally, when your expert has been there, he writes a report, also to the construction company, in which he criticizes the defects and demands rectification. I personally believe one could probably do without the screws at the bottom. But that is not decisive. I might recommend it this way: Let the complaint proceed. Overlook your own re-inspection, just ask the site manager by email if all complaints have been addressed. He will want to call. Best regards Gabriele

Hi,

the windows must be fastened according to their own type statics. Depending on the size, the tabs on the sides are no longer sufficient. However, the window installer must provide proof of this if the expert criticizes it. Therefore, as described above, let the defect stand. He must either fix the defect or prove that there is no defect (static proof).

Depending on the brick, it doesn't hold downwards anyway, right?

I think we are talking about floor-to-ceiling windows, right? In the smaller ones, it is uncommon in my opinion.
