Hello dear forum!
I need your expert assessment to answer the following issue:
We are currently planning to build a semi-detached house and would like to build with a basement (white tank, developed into a living basement, ceiling height 2.40m-2.50m).
The prospective partner for the semi-detached house does not want to build a basement under any circumstances.
To what extent could this become problematic? I have meanwhile understood that additional stabilization measures would then be necessary for us, which according to the construction company are not uncommon and would amount to approximately 3000-5000 euros. Once this additional stabilization has been carried out, there should be no more problems later (cracks, instabilities). Is that correct? Is it not, expressed in layman's terms, that "the house without a basement pushes against the one with a basement"?
How do you see the whole thing?
Thank you very much for your reply, greetings from Hamburg,
