Hello everyone!

In order to realize the dream layout of our new kitchen, we would need to relocate the supply and drain pipes by about 2 meters. The appointment with the plumber has already been arranged, but I would like to review everything in advance to prevent any misunderstandings later on.

The key data:
- The pipes would need to be surface-mounted and routed about 2 meters to the left around the corner (see picture "Grundriss")
- The distance to the wall (external dimension, including the pipe) must not exceed 8 cm, as the maximum overhang of the kitchen must not exceed 9 cm
- The socket to the left of the current water connection position should remain accessible (since it is separately fused and the dishwasher will be connected there)

In my idea, it could look something like in the picture "Skizze Wasserleitungen".
The angle valves would be dismantled and moved to the new position. The hot water line (W) as well as the drain pipe (A) would need to be shortened towards the floor outlet. Below would run the hot water (yellow), above the cold water (blue), and in the middle with a slope the drain pipe (green).

I have the following questions regarding this:
- From your point of view, is the project feasible as planned or is there anything speaking against it?
- The new cold water line would then run above the socket. I assume that this should be okay?
- The new position of the angle valves would be about 25 cm to the right of the high-voltage connection of the stove. Would that be a problem?

Thank you in advance for your feedback!

Best regards

Should work. I've seen that quite often. Rental apartment, right?

Thank you for the feedback!

That's right, I had forgotten to mention that! It is a condominium.

According to your plan, there is no cabinet under the window. The surface-mounted cables do not look good. How do you want to solve that?

That was my thought as well. Technically it won't be a problem and will be easy to solve. But it won’t look good. If nothing is supposed to go there anymore, I would personally either install everything flush-mounted or, more likely, adjust the kitchen.

The plan is merely the developer's sample floor plan and does not match the actual connections.

In our final kitchen layout, there is a long kitchen front on the left wall with a sink and dishwasher as well as a kitchen peninsula with a cooktop in front (all marked in blue). The current plan is to cover the surface-mounted pipes with drywall halfway up (marked in yellow) and accordingly plaster & paint white so that it blends seamlessly into the wall. The idea came from us, but our kitchen fitter actually had a client with exactly the same project and was able to show us pictures that convinced us. However, if it doesn't look good in our case, we could still consider making the covering up to countertop height and then running the peninsula countertop over the strip.

Since the pipes come out of the floor, unfortunately we have no other option but to run everything surface-mounted. Because even if we routed most of it inside the wall (which would be significantly more complex), there would still be the transition from floor to wall at the current floor outlet, which would then also have to be covered.
