dena® launches central list for energy efficiency experts in Germany
The Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) supports homeowners from December 15th with a new online database.
An external link for finding qualified energy efficiency experts who work in the federal funding programs for energy efficiency in residential buildings. The experts listed at dena are specially qualified for the federal funding programs On-Site Consultation (BAFA) as well as for the planning and construction supervision of KFW Efficiency Houses 40 and 55 (new construction and renovation).
Experts will also be found in the database for the new funding module "Effizienzhaus Denkmal" for historic monuments and other residential buildings with particularly valuable building fabric, which is expected to start in spring 2012. The experts help with decisions about sensible energy-saving measures, take over the planning, organize the implementation, and provide information about government funding. The database was developed by dena together with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs, the Federal Ministry of Building, the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA), and the KfW Banking Group.
Finding experts made easy
In the online database, experts can be searched by postal codes. The result then shows building energy consultants in trade, architects, or engineers in the vicinity. To ensure that homeowners can rely on the professional experience of the experts, dena continuously verifies the qualifications of the experts: every two years they must prove that they are up to date with the current state of technology and have worked practically in the field. Transparent and uniform entry criteria guarantee the high basic qualification of the listed experts. Registration is voluntary. The experts are supported by practical and up-to-date information from dena.
On-site consultation and efficiency houses
For energy consultations, highly efficient new buildings, and renovations, professionals with the right qualifications are crucial for selecting and implementing energy-efficient measures. Homeowners planning the renovation of their house should involve an independent energy consultant for on-site consultation from the start. The consultant may discover weak points in the house that can be improved with little effort and provides tips for further renovation options. KfW Efficiency Houses 40 and 55 are houses whose energy quality is many times better than that of a new building according to the current minimum standard. High quality from the start is particularly important here, as mistakes can hardly be corrected later.
