New heating system (oil > gas) without renewable energies: KFW 151?

Hello everyone,

our oil heating system has given up after 22 years. A (partial) repair would be relatively expensive and probably only make sense for a very short period ("could break down again tomorrow"). That means we have decided to replace the existing oil heating system with a gas heating system including the necessary house connection.

We then requested 2 offers: gas heating once without and once including renewable energies. The latter is eligible for both Bafa and KfW funding. Unfortunately, the offers, with everything included, differ by nearly 20,000 (8,500 to 28,000). After deducting funding and consumption savings, there is still a five-figure gap, so for the moment we will probably decide on the solution without renewable energies.

Now to my question: Is the heating system replacement as an individual measure still eligible for funding under KfW funding program 151? I have studied the information sheets and details on the website for a long time, but unfortunately I don’t really understand it.

Has anyone of you had experience with this and can possibly provide information?

Thank you very much.

Best regards Christian Eulich

Solar thermal systems are not worthwhile. Since it is not mandatory in existing buildings, I would therefore also avoid it. However, nothing is subsidized then. You can get subsidies for a heat pump, but it is also significantly more expensive.
