Our house is from 2013... unfortunately, the rhombus facade cladding is not of the best quality, rather the opposite. The facade is on the south side, the same material is used in the entrance area in the north, but it looks much better there. My husband has climbed the scaffolding twice in recent years and refreshed the wood with some kind of stain or gel. ... The wood is too inferior to go gray, I believe it is spruce (unfortunately, we did not pay attention to the quality of the wood during the ordering, only to the price. (I constantly warn about this in the forum) Before we start with the new terrace roof (diligent readers know why), we want to renew the cladding with a visually similar material. Any tips? We thought of WPC or something similar for about 4.5 sqm. Since today, we have had a request running at MyHammer. What do you think? What should the work cost? Or does it not have to be renewed at all, is it supposed to be this cracked?

Well, it's just spruce. For 100-120€/sqm, it should be possible to replace it with glazed larch including labor. The bigger challenge will probably be finding someone for the mini job, especially since it should be done somewhat accurately.

Yvonne, seriously. The wood is completely intact. I don't see anything in the photos, even when I enlarge them with my fingers spread, that should worry you. Cracking is completely normal for spruce, it just dries out and shrinks. If you don't want to live with the appearance, then clean the boards with Netrol and then saturate them with Owatrol. Or Remmers Lasur UV for outdoors. The whole thing will stand up to you. I suspect you're not twenty anymore either. K.

Hmm, I also don't see a problem here. Sand and finish. Possibly carbonize if you like the look, then you don't have to do anything else to it.

There is a Terra roof coming up. Then we won't be able to get to it anymore.

Larch? Then it will turn a proper gray, right? Then we'll have peace? Spruce.... we'll get into trouble eventually, right? If we leave it like that? We definitely don't want to go up there again... my poor husband is over 60 oops:
