Really? I always cancel immediately after concluding the contract and simply sign up again a year later (reminder via the portal). For a saving of about 100-150€ per year, the "stress" is worth it to me.

That, on the other hand, would be too much moral stress for me. It is what it is. I'm no hero about it Either the later new search would also "constrain" me

Or book with Naturstrom/Lichtblick/ews Schönau and invest a few CT per kWh in renewable energy (and do something for the environment)

One must keep an eye not only on the price but also on the power quality. This green spotlight electricity, for example, makes the television have a greenish tint when you want to listen to old marches on the turntable, things like "Wir fahren gegen Engeland" or "schwarzbraun ist die Haselnuss," then it always loses 30 volts and the whole thing sounds hollow. Therefore, we only buy good Czech nuclear power from eon, radiant picture on the TV, first-class march voltage stability. That is worth two or three euros extra to me, happy new year, hold on in the storm roar. Karsten

So, whenever there is a price increase at Verivox, I choose one of the cheapest providers for electricity and gas. Before that, I usually call the current provider again and ask if there is a cheaper tariff. Since there is a special right of termination in case of increases, I don't have to create a calendar entry or worry about missing the cancellation deadline or automatically ending up with the basic supplier again.

In addition, I pay close attention to whether the amount of the installments matches our consumption. Providers like to add a little extra on top. I note down the meter reading every few months and can then calculate whether it still fits. I've been doing this since my electricity provider filed for insolvency in 2018 and did not pay out the credit of 150 EUR.

We have been getting electricity from Greanpeace Energy for years. It is not directly Greenpeace but still connected. It gave a good feeling to sense what happens with the returns. After moving, I have not made a long-term decision yet. Herzensangelegenheit.org I find interesting – then 1ct per kWh goes to a club or an organization.
