Hello everyone,

attached is the current bathroom design for our family bathroom on the upper floor with a total area of 11.5 sqm. This is on the upper floor of a city villa with 155 sqm without a basement, the bathroom is located in the northwest corner of the house. Residents: 2 adults and 2 children (6+10 years). The walls are fixed, window and door dimensions as well. The positions of the door could still be moved along the wall. It is about your opinion and suggestions for improvement regarding the size, arrangement of the shower/toilet/sink/bathtub and also the pre-wall installations.

The 3D views were created with the V&C bathroom planner, so some details are not displayed correctly:
- The shower area will have a drainage channel on the window side.
- The shower area measures 90 x 160 cm (w x l)
- The bathtub will be a Schröder Luzern corner tub with 165 x 90 cm (w x l)
In the corner behind the door there should be the laundry basket and another bathroom furniture (shelf, chest of drawers, cabinet).

An electric towel radiator will be retrofitted if necessary in practice. The heat demand calculation does not foresee one.

Yes, pretty. Is there a problem? I don't see one anyway.

I would probably choose a straight bathtub – it's a matter of taste. But definitely try lying down!

Parapet height 65 at the window – is that standard for you?

Hello Katja,
no problem, but many eyes usually see more than just our own 4.
Thanks for the feedback.

We don't really care about the tub, we almost left it out. Only the children and the dog use it, that's why it's so small.
BRH65 is standard on the upper floor, more of a compromise in the bathroom. We didn't want floor-to-ceiling windows – nor a wider window. So the only option was to extend the window a bit downward for more light. We'll see how much of this window we still need to make opaque. The neighboring house is 11m away.

Looks great. 3 ideas for it, which we have realized in a similar T-arrangement and have proven themselves:
1. Instead of a floor drain, use a wall drain, integrated into the partition wall to the toilet. Looks much nicer.
2. Install a glass wall from a "reasonable" height between the shower and the toilet. This brings light into the shower and provides shelf space on both sides, as the glass is nicely thin.
3. A tiled ledge in the shower is pleasant - for washing feet and, when you get older, also for sitting, e.g. when washing hair.

I would also take a straight bathtub.

By the way, my bathroom looks similar. We designed the upper part of the wall between the shower and the toilet as glass. This allows daylight to enter the shower.

@ hampshire/lastdrop, at what height does the glass wall start for you? How is the glass fixed? Who built it? A glazier, the drywall installer? How about cleaning, does it stay clean while showering?

I really like the idea, but I find it hard to imagine it practically.

I also like the wall drain. How can the drain be cleaned? I have 2 girls with long hair here. Currently, I clean the hair strainer every week, otherwise there is flooding.
