Ok, yes, that’s true, it’s only in the attic. What diameter should it have? I’m just thinking, if that’s the only opening, I would probably also make it bigger here. Maybe triangular, echoing the gable shape. But I’m also a fan of lots of light.

What they probably want to convey to you (apart from the costs) is that at some point a room no longer GAINS space, but rather takes on a hall-like character.

Your sense of space is limited by the internal floor height of 256. You can take as much area as you like.

Moreover, it is part of an architect's skills not to create a sense from area but from other features like skylights, height, gallery, etc. to generate a feeling of an open, communicative space.
Has yours already discussed something like that?

Good that you mention it. (Then I don’t have to. ;)) A higher ceiling height would definitely create a much more "airy" feeling in the room here, if that is desired.

I would still adjust the window size on the right and left to make it look more harmonious, but I think you understand what I mean. ;)

Thank you very much for your effort! Really great! With the window size and the double front door, you convinced us. The triangular window looks too modern to us, as the regional style is, in our opinion, better reflected in the round window. Thank you very much for your help!
