SPD Building Minister Barbara Hendricks plans a subsidy of 6000 to 8000 euros per child - and is already negotiating about it with Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble (CDU).

Hello dear community,

the subsidy would directly affect us. We have to "emigrate" to the Berlin suburbs because nothing is affordable here anymore (it is supposed to affect metropolitan areas). As a family with many children, this would of course help us a lot. Our loan conditions are moderate given the circumstances (many people, less income due to parental leave, little equity).
20,000€ more? Gladly! But when? Are we supposed to wait now? We actually have to get started but that is a lot of money. We are about to finalize our financing and the subsequent land purchase. House construction is planned for spring 2017.
Do you think they will manage that in a timely manner?
And what does it depend on... so will they only provide subsidies BEFORE loan approval or BEFORE building application? Or simply whoever is building right now?

What do you think? I am interested in your speculations. How does this behave with other subsidies for building families? Maybe it will be handled similarly then?
What do you say? Looking forward to hearing.

Greetings out there

If that happens, then it will be pushed through before the elections, which ultimately means that it would have to become legally binding before the summer break 2017 - or it will never happen.

However, legislative changes take their time, 6 months is nothing. You cannot plan and wait for it. At best, you can go along if it is foreseeable that the law will really come. So far it is an idea, nothing more.

Best regards Dirk Grafe

Hi,
so I wouldn’t firmly include this money in the construction financing, if it should come at all. You yourself write that your equity and income situation is currently not so rosy. Because a one-time 20K goes very quickly, and then it has to work without support. So plan your financing, apply for the subsidy, but possibly only use it for special repayments so that your arrangement will also last in the long term.

That is far too vague to be taken into account for a construction request today.

Above all, it is once again complete nonsense to give people money to fuel the market even more and drive prices even higher instead of doing something against speculation and rising prices.

I agree with Sunny. You cannot rely on such statements. Especially in the year before the elections!
