The potential savings would not be an argument for me to do without keystones, as it is not in proportion to the additional time and nerves that (personally) I would have to invest when mounting using LSA. There are helpful videos on YouTube, among others, on the mounting of Telegärtner keystones, which can then be compared with the LSA mounting. Everyone can then get an impression themselves of what is easier. Keystones are also or especially suitable for the patch panel, where a separation takes place between the housing (patch panel) and the adapter (keystone). The more cables have to be terminated, the more grateful you are for the separation. What actually happens if a module on the patch panel is occupied by mistake? Can it be replaced? With the keystone, I just take a new one. Our network rack (21 U) is mounted at about 1.20 m below the top edge of the frame and the two 24-port patch panels are located in the upper third of the rack. If I now imagine having to connect the wires with the LSA tool while standing on a ladder, it almost causes me physical pain. My urgent advice therefore: use keystones and only be a little annoyed by the darn little cable strands.
