Thank you very much for the feedback; it's always interesting to see how things develop. As I read it, you can be largely satisfied with it. You probably would have gladly signed this result beforehand. :D The last three points only concern you to a limited extent or not at all; the other neighbor should deal with them. Unfortunately, it is sometimes the case that people can only see their own thing and don’t even realize that they have one foot in someone else’s garden. You are probably not an isolated case; with this result, however, I would be largely "satisfied" on my side as well, also considering that you have even done something "together" again. A truly poisoned neighborhood causes stomach ulcers, so I would live with the now readable things, including the wall on the border.

Well, at least there was a solution. But he is definitely a "special" neighbor.

That is, in my impression, less a question of the actual circumstances and more one of the neighborhood atmosphere. It is obvious that one should consider them "usable." But of course, it is also not sensible to hold back more than one can do with a light heart. Often it helps to change one's own behavior. On the one hand, be friendly (if possible "genuine"), on the other hand show "clear boundaries" ... and switch back to friendly as soon as there is room for it ... that can loosen the atmosphere ... ... but I don't envy you for the situation

I understand your motivation to keep the lawyer out for as long as possible and I am basically similar in that regard. However, in your situation, I think you are almost too late with that and will regret it later. Either for one reason or another. Either way, I don’t see you having a beer with him anytime soon. Be it on his, your, or your joint gray-area property.

Otherwise, once again the quote from hampshire, because it completely agrees with my opinion.
