Natural stone staircase: cleaning tip?

We have now covered our concrete staircase with dark natural stone (Grey Steel) and are really thrilled! However, dust, sand, etc. are of course visible very quickly, and sand in particular is obviously not good for the surface.

Do you have any good tips for daily cleaning? Swiffer doesn't work because of the closed staircase and the sand, and a hand broom and dustpan are also not very effective. Now I have already thought about buying a good handheld vacuum cleaner (a Dyson DC34), but is that the "best" way?

We have dark wood - no less heavy, hard to keep clean :( Why doesn’t Swiffer work? I wipe dry with a microfiber cloth, holding a handheld vacuum in my left hand that’s supposed to suck up the hair. I guarantee you: over the years, the steps in our place will be replaced with Shabby-Style steps.

I can well understand the exchange, it is indeed a huge effort to keep it clean. Regarding the Dyson vacuum cleaners, I can only say good things. They are really great compared to some others, but they also come with their price.

In the meantime, we have bought the Dyson DC34 handheld vacuum cleaner and are extremely impressed with the device. However, it is only somewhat suitable for the stairs themselves because it blows the air out sideways again, which then leads to additional dust swirling...
