Do you already have the statics for that? Then you really can’t just change anything like that... And where should a steel beam go there? What is it supposed to carry? Or do you mean on the ground floor ceiling?

No, I don’t have the structural engineering yet, I don’t have any submission plans

Here in Bavaria, it works like this in 70-80% of cases. The floor plan and submission plan are drawn by the contractor or draftsman, and then submitted to the municipality. After that, all the craftsmen etc. are coordinated by the client. The craftsmen I know also always say that this has become normal by now and that rarely is there a specification from the architect for preparing the offer. At least I don’t know anyone who built with an architect, why this is so common in our region I unfortunately can’t say.o_O

Someone told me that the load has to be removed downwards. But apparently, this claim was nonsense. Some build with an open roof structure, they also don't have any supports with this roof shape, or am I seeing that wrong?

You might possibly mean the ring beam that is poured on top to support the roof structure. But it is simply poured where the walls are present, not the other way around. So, I would continue to pursue the idea with this bedroom solution. ;)

Thanks again for the idea with the bedroom, the wife is thrilled about it. Happy New Year to everyone

I just had another appointment with the structural builder, where I asked again in detail about the support because I wasn't quite sure. It was about the knee wall, which might have to be completely bricked up for me. It's probably borderline if you only build 4 knee wall supports as usual. However, he will talk to the structural engineer again on Monday, but he said his gut feeling is usually right.
