The costs depend on the dimensions and the material thickness, so it cannot be stated in general terms.
The claddings I have seen were all made of corten, so it must somehow work. I thought someone here had already done it because you see it very often nowadays.
I’ll probably have to look further and, if necessary, inquire at a locksmith, but they are usually reluctant to provide information if you don't purchase the material from them or have the work done by them, and the material costs me almost half online. Mind you, not cheap Chinese steel.
