Hello!

I know that problem! But it didn’t only happen with my muesli, the nasty also took up residence in my flour before I wanted to bake a birthday cake for my mother. What I noticed is that temperature plays a big role in this. So you should better store your food far away from heat and steam!

For me, they were in the hay. They prefer to go into fatty products like nuts, and they love paprika seasoning powder. You can quite clearly see if something is infested with moths because fine cobwebs are then present in the food, where the dust sticks. I also fight them with these [Mottentafeln]. The infestation has significantly decreased for us since we have the hay in the winter garden, and now there is only one rabbit left anyway...

I know that too! We now have everything in these Lock&Lock containers, so something like that can hardly happen. Or you would notice if a moth flew out of the container.

That sounds really awful. I've never heard of that before, not even among acquaintances.

After a vacation, we once had a fly plague in the kitchen. There were maybe 50-80 flies in the room, which we basically let out the window. But then it continued, every morning 10-20 flies on the window. Over and over again. We then searched all the cracks and it was actually the case that especially under the trash bin there was a piece of fruit (urks) with maggots next to it. Interestingly, also in another corner of the room, where apparently nothing else was there except a protected spot. When we vacuumed these two "nests" (thanks for that invention! :D) and cleaned thoroughly, the ordeal was luckily over. There was nothing in the supplies.

But: Definitely really disgusting. I can't even imagine what it's like when everything in the drawers is crawling.
