In the meantime, we have made a decision and will opt for a solid wood ceiling with visible quality despite some disadvantages. It should remain light, so it will be treated with UV protection. Whether white pigments will be added will only become clear later. This might be done in just one room initially to see how it looks. It is also quite possible that it will become relatively white, but the wood grain will still be visible. We will see. In terms of price, it costs approximately €2200 more compared to the non-visible dowel wood ceiling. However, this saves the need for suspending, boarding, filling/sanding/wallpapering/plastering.
