Thank you for your mentioned "Informationsquellen"! I will really dig through them... By the Google offers I meant the ads there, I always get the feeling that these are all bait offers from some Eastern European providers with unbelievable (cheap) prices. I have zero trust in that, it would certainly be different if I knew more about the subject or the brands. But thanks to you, I now have a few that make googling easier for me! Thanks already! Links don't work, but the brands help me a lot... I just don't want to buy cheap and regret it later. I'd rather lower my expectations and be happy if it lasts a long time. And when I read that you can already get something really good here for €10,000, I am even more motivated!

So, I sneaked around the mentioned sites and manufacturers and have to say that I couldn’t find a swim spa anywhere under €20,000, not even close, and that doesn’t even include setup or installation.

Over the weekend we also visited an exhibition where two of the C-Side pools were actually set up. At first, the employee gave us numbers that didn’t sound too unreasonable, but when we talked about the additional necessary equipment with installation etc., it immediately came back to at least €30,000. Another dealer told us on the phone that he has never sold a C-Side pool under €35,000.

So it seems impossible to get something decent with a pool budget of €20,000, even if it’s only mini pond size.

I’ll soon start looking into building it myself, which is supposed to be significantly (like not just significantly, but mega-super-duper-amazingly) more affordable. Of course, then it’s a “project” and not a “we’ll just do this” thing, but on the other hand, you somehow also get a new hobby (which will probably last for years :D). It’s an option that I first have to internalize, really read up on the effort, and support with a few YouTube videos...

this is our Oasis Platinum Swim Spa, 4.4 x 2.3m. The price also included the concrete slab and lift mechanisms for the heavy covers. we have this on one end, we had the two covers sewn together and something like this in stainless steel on the other end. You slide in the two covers and then fold them down. But there are also the deluxe versions with hydraulics, very expensive.

Additionally, there is a heat pump (at least with us) and solar helps too. The chemicals are not exactly cheap either. In my country (Australia), there are also costs for a safety fence, I have to register the thing with the authorities (cost) and pay a fee every year for the inspector who comes once every 5-10 years.

On top of that come delivery and installation (by crane).

If I had children, I would take a pool; for adults, a swim spa. In winter (3 months) I don’t use it anymore, it’s too cold around it.

I see that completely differently or rather, I have actually had different experiences.

Besides: you should first clarify what exactly you want. If you, as you say, don’t want to swim at all, you don’t need a swim spa with counter-current jets, then a regular hot tub is completely sufficient, isn’t it?! Although I also found enough swim spas between 15-20k in just 2 minutes of googling, mostly solid to good manufacturers like Wellis for example.

Since we didn’t know how to integrate a swimming pool or swim spa into our rocky hillside without spending a hefty six-figure sum, we decided to skip the water features. At the furniture fair in Cologne, we happened to come across a Softub booth. Nice people (and very good salespeople) at the stand, we were in a good mood and just spontaneously made the purchase (the house hadn’t been built yet). The insulation seems very good and with the 900W heating motor, the small hot tub stays warm in winter without running continuously (I’m an environmental pig!). I haven’t regretted it for a second. I mainly earn my money by thinking. That works especially well in the hot tub when creativity is required. In that sense, the home office hot tub has already paid for itself many times over. ;) It’s just not for swimming.

I do not have the swim spa because of the countercurrent nozzles, I need the space to do my exercises. There are also swim spas without these countercurrent nozzles. In my spa, you can see 3, but only one is connected.
